As generative AI becomes increasingly capable, the question facing education isn’t how fast we can adapt to new tools but whether we are teaching what matters most.
This session, led by Christine Looser, PhD, who leads Strategic Partnerships for Minerva Project in North America, focuses on reimagining education systems to cultivate authentic intelligence—our human capacity for connection, agency, synthesis, discernment, and meaning-making.
Drawing on research in learning science and over a decade of educational design at Minerva University and Minerva Project, this interactive session explores how institutions can reimagine curriculum around durable, transferable skills that transcend disciplines. Participants will collaborate to identify the skills we should teach and how to help people acquire them through intentional design, active pedagogy, and frequent formative feedback.
By the end, you will leave with actionable strategies for building better programs and a renewed sense of optimism that, in an age of AI, the most innovative work lies in cultivating authentic human intelligence.
Toward the School of the Future: Neuroscience and Human Intelligence -
Insights and case studies from French schools transformed through neuroscience.
By GRENE Monde & U. of Montpellier - France
Session 1 - 1:45PM in French - floor 3
Session 2 - 2:45PM in French - floor 3

What if the rise of AI were, in fact, the long-awaited opportunity to finally bring neuroscience into education?
For too long, education systems have paid little attention to the very science that explains how human intelligence develops. Yet, if our mission is truly to nurture human potential, then integrating what we know about the brain is no longer optional, it is essential.
Research in cognitive neuroscience tends to show that our brains are universal and that we are all genetically determined... to learn!
Join us in this disruptive workshop led by Dr. Pascale Toscani, to better understand our cerebral organization and discover disruptive school models that have already been adopted in France and prved to be a success from a pedagogical view point.
You will discover that many of our old beliefs are being shattered, particularly concerning human intelligence, the evolution of cognitive skills throughout life, and the extraordinary ability of young children to form hypotheses about the world.
This workshop will allow you to envision learning that opens several possibilities. However, a profound and disruptive transformation of our school models is essential, as is the support of educational partners.
This workshop embodies a very promising outlook for the school of the future!
Designing University-Centered Generative AI Tools for Responsible Educational Innovation: Lessons learned and Guidelines
By UC Louvain - Belgium
Session 1 - 1:45PM in English - floor 36
Session 2 - 2:45PM in French - floor 36

Generative AI is reshaping higher education at an unprecedented pace. For universities, the challenge is not only to keep up with commercial solutions, but to ensure that these technologies serve their academic mission, respect their values, and remain under their control. How can institutions design AI that truly reflects their pedagogical priorities while safeguarding sovereignty, responsibility, and sustainability?
Join us for this workshop with Yves Deville, PhD and Strategic Lead for Artificial Intelligence at UC Louvain and Robin Guérit, AI Project Coordinator and Learning Experience Designer at UCLouvain's to explore UC Louvain's approach to developing a generative AI platform specifically designed for university communities.
Rather than adapting to existing commercial tools, participants will learn why and how to build generative AI solutions that prioritize institutional pedagogical needs, foster responsible usage practices, and maintain independence and full control over functionalities.
Together, Yves and Robin will share concrete strategies for creating communities of practice around generative AI, addressing sovereignty concerns, and minimizing environmental impact while focusing on new pedagogical frameworks and challenges.
From Disruption to Strategy: The Futures Wheel for Universities and Schools
By Brookings Institution for Universal Education, USA
Session 1 - 1:45PM in French - floor 36
Session 2 - 2:45PM in English - floor 36
_edited.jpg)
As educational organizations face accelerating change, leaders are challenged not only to respond to immediate disruptions but also to anticipate long-term consequences and opportunities. Artificial intelligence exemplifies this challenge: research shows that AI is most successful when embedded within a clear framework that shapes and guides its use.
This hands-on session, led by Mary Burns, international expert in Technology and Education and lead researcher for the Brookings Institution study on AI in Education, is designed specifically for executive boards of universities and schools. It introduces the Futures Wheel, a strategic foresight method originally developed at Harvard, which helps decision-makers visualize ripple effects of emerging trends, map consequences, and identify strategic options aligned with institutional mission and values.
Participants will use the Futures Wheel to examine AI integration in education, starting from immediate impacts, expanding to secondary consequences, and envisioning longer-term ripple effects. This structured approach enables boards to broaden their perspective beyond short-term pressures and design robust strategies for AI adoption that truly serve student learning.
By the end of the session, participants will leave with concrete next steps to embed anticipatory thinking into governance and guide thoughtful, future-ready AI integration with clarity, resilience, and vision.
Beyond Algorithms: Building Human-Centered Education in the AI Era
AWS, USA
Session 1 - 2:45PM in English - floor 36
Session 2 - 3:45PM in French - floor 36

Join Americo Carvalho, Head of AI/ML GTM at AWS, as he explores how Generative AI can transform higher education while preserving its fundamental human values.
Drawing from his 26 years of experience in digital transformation and Quebec's newly released framework for AI integration in higher education, Americo will discuss how educational institutions can embrace AI's democratization by addressing technological advancement and societal considerations in unison.
This session will examine practical approaches to developing AI literacy across educational communities, maintaining academic integrity in the age of AI, and ensuring that artificial intelligence serves as a complement to - rather than replacement for - human expertise and pedagogical relationships.
Attendees will gain insights into building ethical AI practices that respect institutional autonomy, professional freedom, and academic liberty while fostering educational success and advancing scientific knowledge in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Towards a World Education Heritage : Participate to the Creation of Micro-Augmented Certified Piece of Knowledge
UNESCO - NetLearning Unitwin Network & University of Paris Saclay, France
Session 1 - 2:45PM in English - floor 3
Session 2 - 3:45PM in French - floor 3

In an age of disinformation and the viral spread of low-quality content on social media, how can education communities reclaim trust and authority in knowledge sharing?
This workshop, led by the UNESCO–UNITWIN Network in collaboration with Université Paris-Saclay, introduces MACKs: Micro-Augmented Certified Pieces of Knowledge. These short video capsules are designed as microlearning resources that can be created easily by students in a multidisciplinary setting, on any topic. Once produced, they are deposited on a blockchain platform, certifying both the authorship and the pedagogical quality of the content.
The objective is simple yet ambitious: to empower the entire educational community to produce and disseminate concise, credible, and high-quality learning content as a way to combat digital disinformation.
During this hands-on session, Caroline Mascret, PhD (Professor at Université Paris-Saclay and Researcher, Founder of the MACK Chair), together with Axandre Dubois and Amina Boutaleb (students at Université Paris-Saclay and Co-Leads in MACK Development), will present how MACKs are created in practice and how participants can actively take part in this growing movement.
By the end of the workshop, you will discover not only a new pedagogical tool, but also a community-driven approach to reinforcing truth, trust, and creativity in education.
