OPENING KEYNOTE : Human Reserved Domains : A New Social Contract for the Age of AI

What if, before 2030, we had to establish professional domains - or specific tasks - reserved exclusively for humans?
Building on her 2023 reflections on the need for a new social contract, Dr. Delphine Le Serre takes us to the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. She examines cognitive abilities now replicated by AI systems and robots, explores the irreplaceable human skills we must nurture, and questions the obsolescence of others as AI transforms organizations. She will open the Summit by considering consequences of human-reserved domains for careers, higher education, and classrooms.
Delphine Le Serre, PhD is an internationally recognized voice (G20, UN, UNESCO,..) on the impact of artificial intelligence on organizations and human capital. Engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur, she guides leaders through the profound transformation of work and the hybridization of intelligences - AI and human alike.
Author of The Future of Human Intelligence in the Age of AI, she decodes the new imperatives of performance and skills development for the leaders and institutions shaping tomorrow.
Founder of the Canadian Think Tank EdHu2050, the MOON Framework and the international HUMANE.S. - HUMAN Education Summit, she advises governments and major institutions on the design of agile learning ecosystems - turning the technological challenge into a sustainable engine of human growth and talent transformation. **Translation available via app

KEYNOTE : AI Is Not the Risk. Complacency Is.
How the University of Michigan Developed Secure Generative AI Tools for 57,000 Students, Faculty, and Staff (ENG)
Ravi Pendsé
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
Vice President for IT
Chief Information Officer

Generative AI is one of the most impactful technologies of this century. When used thoughtfully, responsibly, and ethically, it can be a force for positive disruption across higher education and beyond, expanding human potential and helping organizations better serve their communities.
In our conversation, we will explore how the University of Michigan has approached the deployment of generative AI tools at scale. Our approach has been collaborative, human-centered, and bold. We moved with a level of agility not typically associated with higher education institutions while ensuring that we made space for all voices.
Participants will hear lessons from U-M’s implementation experience, considerations for responsible adoption, and reflections on how institutions can prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead while keeping people, purpose, and trust at the center.
Ravi Pendse, Ph.D., is the Vice President for Information Technology (VPIT) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the University of Michigan. As an executive officer of the university, he provides university-wide leadership and strategic direction for information technology. In 2023, he was named U-M’s first-ever Special Advisor to the President of U-M for India. He is also a professor, researcher, teacher, and advisor to students.
Dr. Pendse spearheaded the development and launch of U-M’s custom AI services, making Michigan the first university in the United States to deploy a suite of generative AI tools broadly to faculty, staff, and students. His leadership has helped position U-M at the forefront of higher education’s thoughtful adoption of artificial intelligence. **Translation available via app

Keynote : From Building New Universities to Renewing Existing Ones: Lessons From Around the World (ENG)
Universities have long balanced tradition with reinvention, but over the past two decades this tension has intensified: a new generation of universities has been created around the world, while established institutions have grappled with many of the same questions. Drawing on experiences captured in The New Global Universities and the creation of the Future Universities Alliance, Noah Pickus explores what these efforts reveal about the future of higher education and how universities can learn from one another more effectively in a period of rapid change. **Translation available via app
